Positive Pay

Stop fraudulent transactions before they clear.

Positive Pay

Positive fraud protection for Business Accounts.

Upgraded Positive Pay — available through Business Digital Banking — helps protect your business from check fraud and unauthorized ACH debits. Set customized rules for what can post to your account, and review exceptions before they're processed.

Key Features

  • Check Positive Pay — Upload your issued check register so the system can match checks presented for payment. Mismatches are flagged as exceptions for your review.
  • ACH Positive Pay — Set rules for which companies can debit your account via ACH. Transactions that don't match your approved list are on hold pending your decision.
  • Exception Management — Review flagged transactions and decide to pay or return
  • Customizable Rules — Configure rules by payee, dollar amount, date range, or SEC code to fit your specific business needs.
  • Audit Trail — Every exception decision is logged, giving you a clear record for reconciliation and dispute resolution.
  • Integrated with Business Banking — No separate login — access Positive Pay directly within your Business Digital Banking dashboard.

What's new with Positive Pay after the upgrade?

After the upgrade, Positive Pay offers the same core protection — matching issued checks and filtering unauthorized ACH debits — along with an improved interface and additional rule configuration options.

Your existing Positive Pay enrollment will be migrated to the new platform, but rules and configurations will NOT carry over automatically.

After your first login to the upgraded Business Digital Banking platform in September, you will need to re-create your check and ACH rules within Positive Pay.

Please plan time to reconfigure your rules before go-live to avoid gaps in fraud protection.

Do I need to re-enroll in Positive Pay after the upgrade?

No. If you were enrolled in Positive Pay with Elements previously, your enrollment will transfer to Advanced Fraud Solutions automatically.

However, your existing rules and configurations will need to be re-created in the new system. Please set aside time after go-live to rebuild your rules.

What happens if I miss an exception review deadline?

If an exception is not reviewed and decisioned by the daily cutoff time, it will default to your account's standing instruction — Return or Pay. Be sure to review the deadlines and default decisions.

Can I access Positive Pay from my mobile device?

Yes. Positive Pay is accessible through the Elements Mobile App and the desktop Business Digital Banking platform. You can review and make decisions on exceptions from wherever you are, as long as you log in before the daily cutoff.

Who should I contact to enroll or get help with Positive Pay?

Contact your Elements Treasury Management Officer or call Member Services at (800) 621-2105. We can walk you through enrollment, rule setup, and exception management.
